To all the wonderful staff at The Meadows of Owosso:
I would like to take a moment to say Thank You all from the bottom of my heart for all you do for my Mom, Dottie Compton and our family.
Mom has been with you for a little over a year now, since moving from the nursing home. The move to The Meadows has been the best thing in the world for Mom. She came from being confined to a wheel chair and medicated to slow her down to having a normal as can be expected life back. She has the freedom to walk when she wants to and her dignity back. She has a beautiful room with an amazing view of the meadow. She is surrounded by loving and caring staff who express sincere compassion for the elderly.
Although Mom cannot hear or speak, this does not stop you from communicating with her. l have watched you communicate with Mom by your soft touches and facial expressions. Your actions which bring smiles and funny faces out of Mom are priceless! The look in Mom’s face shows she has all the faith in the world in you and the care you are giving her.
Our family is always happily greeted when we come to visit. We are made to feel like we are one big family, which is awesome. Even though we now live over two hours away, this has not changed a thing in how Mom is being cared for or the communication process. Missy sending me text messages and photos of Mom when l cannot be there is worth a million dollars and then some.
We don’t know how much longer Mom will be with us, but one thing that eases our pain is knowing Mom is safe, happy and being well cared for at The Meadows.
With Sincerity and Great Gratitude,
Laura Martin
